Columbia Gorge Weekend

Last weekend my husband and I headed out to Portland to see my grandfather who hadn’t been able to make it to the wedding. While we were in town we stopped at the Lan Su Chinese Garden in downtown Portland. I could hardly believe there was a garden in such a gritty, urban part of town, but there it was!

A tai chi demonstration.

The rocks say “Ten thousand ravines engulfed in deep clouds”

The tea house.

It is a beautiful garden. We especially enjoyed the carp in the ponds and the beautifully carved pavilions. Ten artisans from China came to Portland and stayed to build this garden. It is considered the most “authentically Chinese” garden outside of China.

Next post I will tell you about our time spent in the Maryhill Museum and Mammoth Falls!
